Life’s Too Short to Select Plain Paper Towels

For those too  young to recall, (I barely do!) ladies used to shop for toilet paper in the same pastel color as their bathroom. Pink, blue, and yellow were most common, but I imagine there was green too, along with prints.

I don’t know that I would be in the market for the toilet paper, but  I do love patterned kitchen towels. Those are getting somewhat rarer these days. They don’t seem to make printed ones for the holidays anymore.

Yes, the printed brands may be a bit more pricey. Some say since we just throw them away that color doesn’t matter, but I see paper towels as another item of kitchen decor.

I use them in place of dishes sometimes too. If I’m just making a sandwich, it seems easier than washing a dish, and offers the added value of use as a sandwich wrap, so the crumbs don’t fall from between the bread, onto the floor.

Cost cutting is essential for me, but I do choose to splurge by purchasing pretty paper towels when possible. It’s always the little things that make my day.
